4 Feb 2002 The Farallon Islands are fantastic! Of course, having perfect weather helps, but I had no idea how beautiful the islands are. And we were fortunate enough to be there during Elephant Seal calfing season. We were were able to walk right up to them, bulls, cows, and calfs. We also got to hike to the top of the mountain...even climbed to the top of the lighthouse. The view from the top, with a clear shot of the other islands and the mainland, was awesome.
